GTA 6 unlock time: when you can play in every region

Grand Theft Auto VI unlocks at midnight local time on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to the PlayStation Store listing.

That means players in New Zealand and Australia will get in first, and players on the US West Coast will be among the last.

Update Nov 2

Rockstar hasn't announced a PC date. We'll update this post if that changes.

What midnight local time means

Your console uses its own region and clock settings, so the game unlocks at 12:00 a.m. wherever your console thinks you are.

  • New York: 12:00 a.m. ET, November 19
  • Los Angeles: 12:00 a.m. PT, November 19
  • London: 12:00 a.m. GMT, November 19
Changing your console's time zone to get in early can cause problems with your account. We don't recommend it.

What to do before launch

  1. Pre-order the digital version if you want to preload.
  2. Clear storage space on your console.
  3. Turn on automatic updates so a day-one patch doesn't hold you up.
